- 1学期間 日本と韓国でオンライン/対面授業を受ける2か国留学
- 両大学から10名ずつ参加 学期を通して共通のテーマに沿って一緒に学ぶ
- テーマに基づいて英語で学際的に学ぶ
- 授業外では、日韓両国で多様なフィールドトリップを実施
- 交換留学協定に基づきUIC授業料は免除
- 韓国滞在費やフィールドトリップには奨学金支給
- 1 term/Two-country, online and face-to-face classes in Japan and South Korea
- 10 students from each university study through the term together
- Take five classes opened by ICU and UIC that along single theme
- Fieldwork will also be conducted in both Japan and South Korea
- Tuition waived for UIC, housing and field trip fees are covered by scholarship

＜延世大学校 / Yonsei University ＞
ソウルにある有名私立大学のひとつ。ICUとは1973年に交換留学協定を締結し、アジアでは最も歴史の長い協定校にあたる。
Yonsei University is one of Seoul's most prestigious private universities. Yonsei has been partner with ICU since 1973, and the university is the first partner university in Asia.
＜Underwood International College＞
2006年設立の学部。全ての科目は英語で開講されている。現地韓国人学生ほか、およそ66か国から、2,500名の留学生が学んでいる。
Underwood International College is established in 2006. All classes are conducted in English and around 2,500 students including international students from 66 different countries are studying.

LearnUsへの応募は、高校時代のカナダでの留学経験が影響しています。留学中の歴史の授業で、様々なバックグラウンドを持つ生徒たちとの異なる価値観や意見が飛び交うディスカッションの場で自己主張が出来なかった経験から、自国の歴史や過去を学びたいと思うようになりました。国際的な視点で自国について学ぶことや、互いの違いを認めながらより良い世界について探求することができるプログラムとして、LearnUsは私が求めているプログラムだと確信しました。
ICUと延世大学とでは、授業スタイルが大きく異なりました。ICUの授業では、「多様な意見を聞き、クリティカルに考察し、新たな価値観に出会い、新たな知識を養うこと」を目的としたディスカッションが中心でしたが、延世大学では「既にある知識や課題に対して、新たなアプローチを考える」ことが求められていると感じました。延世大学では、常に教授による問いかけや学生同士の深い議論があり、時には辛く感じることもありましたが、その分内容が非常に深く、短期間で多くの知識を得ることができました。授業を通して、自分が提案できる新たな視点やアプローチについて考えるようになり、授業に対する参加姿勢に変化があったと思います。
私が参加した今年のこのプログラムの最大の魅力は、国際色の豊かさだったと思います。様々な国からの留学生が参加し、毎日深い話し合いが行われました。特に印象的だったのは、国際関係の協定について各国の視点から意見を交換することで、リアルな意見に触れられたことです。また、学生同士の教育背景が異なることで、それぞれの主張が重なり合い、新たな刺激があり、参加をしたLearnUsのテーマである「和解」について学ぶことに適した環境だったと思います。フィールドトリップも非常に有意義で、日本や韓国の歴史的な場所を訪れることで、学びを深めることができました。
このプログラムは確かに辛い部分も多かったですが、その分やりがいも大きかったです。助け合える友達の重要性、自分の得意分野を見つける努力、新たなアプローチを考える力など、多くの成長を感じました。参加者全員にとって非常に貴重な経験となり、私は参加して本当に良かったと思っています。最後まで読んでいただき、ありがとうございました。
My application to LearnUs was influenced by my experience of studying abroad in Canada during high school. During my study abroad experience in a history class, I was unable to assert myself in discussions with students from different backgrounds with different values and opinions, which led me to want to learn about the history and past of my own country. I was convinced that LearnUs was the program I was looking for, as it allowed me to learn about my country from an international perspective and to explore a better world while recognizing each other's differences.
The teaching style differed greatly between ICU and Yonsei University: whereas ICU's classes focused on discussion with the aim of 'listening to diverse opinions, critical reflection, encountering new values and cultivating new knowledge', Yonsei University's classes required students to 'think of new approaches to already existing knowledge and issues'. At Yonsei University, there were always questions from professors and deep discussions among students, which sometimes felt painful, but the content was very deep and I gained a lot of knowledge in a short period of time. Through the classes, I started to think about new perspectives and approaches that I could propose, and I think my attitude towards class participation changed.
I think the biggest attraction of this year's program, which I participated in, was the international diversity. International students from many different countries took part in the program and in-depth discussions took place every day. What was particularly impressive was that we were exposed to real opinions on international relations agreements by exchanging views from different countries. In addition, the different educational backgrounds of the students overlapped with each other's arguments, which provided new stimulation and was a suitable environment for learning about 'reconciliation', the theme of LearnUs, in which we participated. The fieldtrips were also very meaningful and I was able to deepen my learning by visiting historical sites in Japan and Korea.
The program certainly had many hard parts, but it was also very rewarding. I felt a lot of growth in terms of the importance of friends who can help each other, the effort to find out what I am good at and the ability to think of new approaches. It was a very valuable experience for all participants and I am very glad I took part.

延世大学校からICUへのかつての留学生による寄付により、プログラム参加者全員を対象とした奨学金が支給されます。奨学金により、参加者はプログラム中のフィールドトリップ費用などが免除となります。
