INFORMATION FOR PROSPECTIVE JSPS POST-DOCS
Short-term (less than one year) and long-term (up to two years) post-docs are both welcome. If you are interested, please contact me by email, and at the same time send me some information about yourself, including publication list (published, in press, in preparation, and conferences). The administrative process at JSPS takes time, so please start the application process well in advance. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to email me. The travel expense, salary, some research budgets, and travel allowance during the stay are all supplied. Please see JSPS Home Page , JSPS fellow page, and how to apply, for details. JSPS fund is for US, Canadian, or European citizens or residents. If you are from countries other than those, please contact me for possible arrangement.
Please check out the research subjects in my lab. You can choose any subject in the list, or something related to them. You need to have skills either in, optics, laser, acoustics, mechanics, or programming, which will be necessary for the subject of your choice. ICU is a bilingual university, language is not a problem. All official documents are both in English and Japanese. Also, many of the students have lived overseas sometime in the past.
ICU is one of the most well known private universities in Japan. We have good research activities and students are well motivated. Also ICU has one of the most beautiful campuses among Japanese universities with lots of greens. Please take a look at the ICU webpage to see it for yourself. The library at ICU is one of the best among Japanese private universities. You will have access to the Internet and databases such as INSPEC. Through the document delivery system you can obtain articles easily. Ordering a book is virtually unlimited. On-campus accommodation is available. There will be many opportunities to experience unique Japanese culture. You will definitely enjoy your stay!
