Seminars on campus (ICU Placement Week)

As part of our career development support events, the Placement Office seeks to develop ICU students’ understanding and outlooks regarding occupations and employment by holdinga seminar event (ICU Placement Week).ICU Placement Week is held in the vacation between semesters, a period in which there are noclasses (but some intensive courses). At present, we are not planning to hold any other such seminars or job fairs by companies on campus.

As we place top priority on students’ studies within the trimester system and seek to follow the guidelines published by the Keidanren (Japan Business Federation), we will continue to only hold seminars in periods in which students can make intensive efforts to consider their career options.

In AY 2018, ICU Placement Week will be held in the fall vacation, between semesters two and three. We also request your understanding that we directly invite the companies that participate, as opposed toputting out an open call for participant companies.

ICU Placement Week

Objective
To provide an opportunity for each student to learn about a wide range of industries and ways of working, and select a career path to their satisfaction.

Dates
November 26 (Mon.)–30 (Fri.), 2018 (five days in total)

Content

  1. A total of around 100 organizations (including public agencies and organizations, etc.) participate during the period of the event.

Points we consider when looking for companies to participate

  1. At ICU there are not only students who graduate in March (April matriculation), but also students who graduate in June (September matriculation). We therefore look for companies that also offer equal opportunities for students who graduate in June to apply for employment.
  2. We look for companies that have equal opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students.
  3. We look at recentrecruitment figures (job offers), etc.

Participating students(For AY 2018)
The AY 2018 event is aimed at all students (undergraduate and graduate), with a principal focus on students due to graduate in June 2019 or March 2020.
