Student Proposals for
Achieving an ‘Eco Campus’

ICUをもっとエコフレンドリーな大学にするために、
1人の構成員として一歩踏み出そう。
In order for ICU to become a more eco-friendly university,
the students and staff should work together as one.
学生、教職員といった肩書を取り払い、
ICU構成員として具体的なアクションプランを提言して、
実行に結びつけよう。
We should throw off the titles of student and staff
and work together as members of ICU
to create a concrete plan and put it into action.

ICUの自然環境を守るために、
知恵を出し合い、考え、行動につなげたい。
ICUには環境宣言があるが、実は知らない人が多い。
さまざまな立場から、ICUの自然環境を守るための知恵を出したい。
To protect ICU’s natural environment,
I would like us to use our ingenuity to connect
our thoughts with our actions.
ICU has its own environmental policy in place, but many people do not know that.
I would like us to use our ingenuity from various points of view to protect
ICU’s natural environment..

Global warming 二酸化炭素と地球温暖化

ICUの環境宣言を知っていても、
環境宣言の内容まで知っている人は
ほとんどいない。
環境宣言を全学生・全教職員に知らせ、
自然エネルギーの導入などで具体的に取り組むことで、
環境に配慮した大学となることが必要だ。
Most people don’t know anything
about ICU’s environmental policy - even
when they know it exists.
It is necessary for the university to become more aware of the environment
through informing students and staff of ICU’s environmental policy,
by introducing green energy sources, and through other means.

ICUで捨てられる新聞・雑誌・
ダンボールなどの紙類と不燃系廃棄物は、
100%再利用されている。
ReActやOIKOSなどICU学生団体の取り組みは評価できるが、
まだまだ学生の間では知られていない。
ICU recycles 100% of its non-burnable waste and
its paper, magazine, cardboard, and other paper waste.
ReAct, OIKOS and other student organizations at ICU can be credited,
but these efforts are still not well known among the student body.

ICUの環境に対する取り組みは、
世間的には2周遅れている。
国連のグローバルコンパクトに署名し、
環境宣言もしている大学としては、
環境基礎単位を必修にするくらいの取り組みが必要である。
Globally speaking, ICU’s environmental
efforts are falling behind.
As signatories of the UN’s Global Compact and
having enacted our own environmental policy,
it is necessary for ICU to introduce such measures as compulsory
environmental studies courses.
