献学60周年記念事業のアカデミック・プログラムをいっそう充実させる取り組みとして、記念事業の統一テーマ「ダイアログ（対話）」のもとに、５つのフォーカスを設定しました。その第一のフォーカスである、「大学の使命・創設者との時空間を越えた対話」の一環として、「オーラル・ヒストリー」と言う試みを開始しました。第1回オーラル・ヒストリー収録は1期生の茅野徹郎氏にお願いし、当時のICUについての思い出を通して、茅野さんにとってのICUが何であるかを語っていただきました。第2回目には、ICU初代理事長であり、国際ロータリークラブの初代日本人代表を務められた東ヶ崎潔氏のご子息、ゴードン・S. 東ヶ崎氏をお招きし、まだ本格的パイプオルガンが日本で演奏されることが稀であった時代にICUオルガン建設計画にご尽力いただいた経緯などについて貴重なお話を伺うことができました。2014年度には、あと2回程度の収録が予定されています。

In an effort to further strengthen the academic programs of the 60th Anniversary Project, five focus areas based on the Anniversary Project’s overarching theme “Dialogue” were established. As part of the first focus area “Dialogue with the founders,” a project called Oral History was begun. Tetsuo Chino (CLA1) was asked to provide the first oral history recording, and he talked about what ICU means to him by means of memories of ICU when he was a student. For the second recording, Gordon S. Togasaki was invited. Gordon S. Togasaki is the son of Kiyoshi Togasaki, the first chairperson of ICU Board of Trustees and the first Japanese president of Rotary International. In his valuable talk, he spoke of his involvement with the plan to set up the ICU organ during an age when performances with full-scale pipe organs were still uncommon in Japan, among others. In AY2014, approximately two additional recordings are scheduled.
