2014年10月6日から2015年3月28日までの間、本学歴史資料室において、企画展 「幻なければ民滅ぶ」‐湯浅八郎とICU‐ “Where there is no vision the people perish” ‐ Hachiro Yuasa and ICU‐を開催しました。本学初代学長である湯浅先生は「明日の大学」を唱え、本学の創設に多大な貢献をなさいました。その足跡をたどる展示に加え、10月28日（火）には、同志社大学学長 村田晃嗣 先生をお迎えし、講演会を開催いたしました。湯浅先生は本学学長へ就任される前、二度にわたり同志社大学総長もおつとめになっており、湯浅先生の同志社大学における存在、そして本学とのつながりを中心に村田先生からお話いただきました。

From October 6, 2014 until March 28, 2015, an exhibit entitled, “‘Where There is No Vision the People Perish’: Hachiro Yuasa and ICU,” will be held in the ICU Archives & Special Collections. Professor Yuasa, the first president of ICU, advocated the “University of Tomorrow”and contributed greatly to ICU’s founding. In addition to the exhibit that follows in his footsteps, on Tuesday, October 28, Doshisha University President Dr. Koji Murata was welcomed to campus to give the above lecture. Before becoming President of ICU, Professor Yuasa served as the Doshisha University President on two different occasions. Dr. Murata was scheduled to speak mainly about Professor Yuasa’s presence at Doshisha University and the connection to ICU.
