本講演会は武久氏のジルバーマン・ピアノの演奏により始まりました。軽やかでのびやかな旋律に合わせて、細胞が分裂し増殖してゆく画像が映し出されることにより、生物と音楽の共通点が鮮やかに印象づけられました。
This event began with Mr. Takehisa's performance on a Silbermann piano. During the performance, images of segmentation and reproduction of cells were projected on the wall, which vividly impressed the common ground between creatures and music performance.
本講演会のもうひとつのテーマはディシプリンを越えた対話です。音楽家である武久氏と生命科学者である荻原氏が、それぞれのディシプリンに閉じこもるのではなく、心を開いてディシプリンを越えた対話をしたことにより大きな発見が得られました。ディシプリンを越えた対話をするために必要なこととして、共通の語彙と言語を対話の基盤とすることが薦められ、さらに何が必要なのかが課題として聴衆に問いかけられました。
Another theme of the lecture was the dialogue transcending disciplines.
A musician, Mr. Takehisa, and a biological scientist, Dr. Ogihara, could reach an important discovery by holding a dialogue transcending disciplines, by opening up their minds and not confining themselves in each respective discipline.
The audience was encouraged to create common vocabulary and language as the base of a dialogue transcending disciplines, and was asked to think what else are necessary.
荻原氏と武久氏の対話により進行した本講演会を一貫するテーマは、生物と音楽に共通する「命」です。動的に秩序を形成することや確率的であること等の生物の特徴は音楽演奏の「命」にも当てはまります。これは、証拠と実証からなる常識的な世界を越えた世界に属します。この世界を支える原理は、フロイトのId (それ)、ユングの「集合意識」、ヘーゲルの「精神」等に当たると指摘されます。生物と音楽演奏に共通する「命」に注目することにより、常識的な世界の中では見過ごされてしまう大切なもう一つの世界に目を向けることができるのです。
The overall theme of the lecture, which was conducted in the form of a dialogue, was “life” common to creatures and music. Characterictics of creatures such as “dynamic order” and “stochasticity” also apply to the “life” of musical performance.
These characteristics belong to the world beyond the world of common sense which consists of evidence and proof.
The principle which supports the world of “life” has no specific name, but “Id” of Freud, “Common Consciousness” of Jung, and “Geist” of Hegel might allude to it. By noticing the common “life” of creatures and music, we can pay attention to the other important world, which tends to be neglected in the world of common sense.
本講演会は武久氏の素晴らしい演奏によって幕を閉じました。学問的および芸術的刺激に満たされた豊かな講演会となりました。
