Birds in Form and Design

January 10 (Tue.) - March 10 (Fri.), 2017

This exhibition features Japanese sake utensils and related items from the Museum's lacquer and ceramics collection.

Hanten coats with shop names applied using the tsutsugaki technique, kimono in kasuri, as well as work clothes with sashiko stitching―this show will introduce the functional indigo-dyed cotton kimono made after the Edo period.

To commemorate the New Year, or the Year of the Rooster, we will show a variety of items from the Museum collection with the "bird" motif.
