- Exhibited were satirical prints issued at the time of the Meiji Restoration, between the return of governing authority to the emperor and the surrender of Edo Castle. They were valuable historical documents, but also a repository of the feelings of common people at the time.

- Banks’ Florilegium is a set of copperplate engravings of exotic botanical illustrations collected by Sir Joseph Banks and his scientific team when they joined Captain James Cook’s first expedition around the world on HMS Endeavour (1768–1771). The ICU Library houses the complete set of the Florilegium in its collection, and this exhibition will feature prints from the flora of New Zealand.

- This exhibition features Museum’s mingei collection and items one encounters in a konbini, or a “convenient store.” Organized in collaboration with Prof. Gavin H. Whitelaw (ICU), we bring together items that we tend to overlook at a konbini in everyday life, and attempt to see if we are able to extract elements of mingei from them.

- Kasuri are “splash-patterned” fabrics made by dyeing threads before they are woven. Various patterns, from geometric to pictorial, may be produced by carefully combining dyed and undyed parts of warp and weft threads. This exhibition will feature Japanese Indigo-dyed kasuri.

- Decoration for blue and white ceramics is either hand done, in which case no two pieces are identical, or applied with the aid of transfers or stencils, thereby reproducing identical patterns many times over. The latter is referred to as inban, and a term inbande is given to the pottery or porcelain decorated by this method. This exhibition features 430 inbande items selected from the Yuasa Collection.

- The ICU Library houses the complete set of Banks Florilegium in its collection. Following the 2006 exhibition which displayed 157 prints from the section of Australia, the Museum plans to show the next set of prints in sequence.

- Tsutsugaki is one of the traditional Japanese hand-painted resist-dye techniques. Indigo-dyed bedding fabrics, wrapping cloths as well as some ceramic examples that use similar techniques will be displayed.

- Japanese people have enjoyed feasting both indoors and outdoors since the old times. - For the first time in Japan, this exhibition will show the ukiyo-e prints by Chikanobu in the collection of Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery, Scripps College (Claremont, California). It will be based on the special exhibition entitled "CHIKANOBU—Modernity and Nostalgia in Japanese Prints" curated by Prof. Bruce A. Coats. It will also show Meiji period ukiyo-e prints from the Museum collection.
